DIY remodelling can be as simple as organizing your pantry or as complex as adding in some shelving units. It is all up to you and how much time and resources you have. 1. Frame Your Artwork or Mementos on Walls:

It’s as simple as that. Pick out some old treasured family photographs, an old childhood picture with friends or any beautiful landscape and just frame it. You can get it framed by a professional or frame it yourself. Framed photos will not only add a touch of life and glamour to your bare walls they will also help you relive old memories.

2. Light up a Glass Jug or Jar:

Got some empty glass jars lying around, light them up! Make use of those empty jars by transforming them into illuminating conversation pieces. Pick up a jar and stuff some Christmas light into it, for a vibrant table lamp. You can also use some fairy lights within jars and hang them by the ceiling for beautiful homemade chandeliers!

3. Get a Rug:

A Rug is a great addition to any home. It adds an element of warmth. You can pick up any vibrant colour or pattern which will gel with the rest of your interiors and yet draw attention. Apart from making your home look and feel cosy, rug will also absorb sound, provide cushioning to your feet’s and protect your flooring, so it’s a win-win buy. If you are into quilting, you can create your own handmade quilted rug! If creating a rug from scratch is too much for you, you can buy a plain bamboo rug, and then spray paint any pattern of your choice on it. This will not make your rug personalized, but also save you money on buying a more decorated rug.

4. Get Storage Creative:

Storage need not only be in form of boring shelves and racks. Get creative with how and what you use to store your stuff. Old unused jars can be hung from rack bottoms to create hanging racks. Find a well dried tree branch, spray paint it with golden colour, stick it in a pot, add some clear stones, and plop it on your dressing table. You now are a proud owner of a wacky jewellery stand. Hang your earrings, pendants and chains on it!

5. Update Boring Tiles:

Retiling a bathroom or kitchen is a big, expensive job, but there is a quick way to make your existing tile look more interesting. Creating a border or any little design with decals, that are easy to apply, or with stencils and spray paints, is cheap easy and extremely effective way to upgrade old tiles. It will not only look cool, but fool your guest into thinking you got new tiles!

6. DIY Under Sofa Storage:

Make use of the spaces under your couch for storing items. You can store your blankets, magazines and remotes in it by building a storage bin on wheels that you can keep under your sofa. Similar storage space can be created in stools and under centre tables. In fact you can convert an old chest into a winsome centre table! Allowing you to utilize old stuff, and create storage space both in 1 go.

7. Go Vintage:

Got lights, take them backwards in time. Give your lights a vintage look by adding some vintage lamps! It’s cheap, easy and adds an undeniable charm to your home. If lamps are too costly for you, a cheaper solution is to cover your lights with some coloured gelatine paper. You can choose any colour you fancy. Doing so for your porch and garden lights will add an element of fun and colour to your outdoor area.

8. Use Stair Covers or Mats:

Using covers or mats on the stairs not just only let you be safe (reduces chances of slips, also cushions falls) but it also provides a marvellous look to your home stairs. You can spruce up the staircase by adding some charming decals along your stairway. Opt for deigns with motion like moving train, or animals etc.
