  1. Day Trip to Vasai Fort
Vasai Fort

About 60 km from Mumbai is a small village of Vasai where lies a beautiful Fort call the Bassein Fort, popularly known as the Vasai Fort. The fort is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.  The fort is now almost in ruins but the magnificence of the Indo-Portuguese architecture can still be seen through the remains.  Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the view from the fort is absolutely amazing. Some movies have also been shot here like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, and Khamoshi.

This is an amazing place for all the photography enthusiasts out there! It is also a hot spot for wedding shots among many youngsters. But do not forget to take permission before going on a shoot.

There is no entry fee to visit the fort. Even though it comes under the Archaeological Survey of India, very little effort has been made for its upkeep. Carry refreshments as water and food are not available here.
