The Andaman
The tropical paradise of the Andaman Islands had always intrigued me. Being far from the bustling mainland, with a promise of crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and a serene escape from reality. When I decided to set out on this adventure, I entrusted the planning to Thrillophilia after reading numerous positive Thrillophilia reviews. The result was an outstanding four-day retreat, filled with stunning sights and unique experiences.
Day 1: Port Blair
My journey to the Andaman Islands kicked off in Port Blair, where the Thrillophilia team took care of all the details, making my arrival seamless. After a quick and easy transfer to my hotel, I was welcomed by the stunning view of the ocean, setting the tone for a relaxing and exciting stay.
The first stop on my agenda was the famous Cellular Jail which is a historical landmark with a heart-wrenching past. Walking through its haunting corridors, I felt a deep connection to the stories of India’s freedom fighters who endured unimaginable hardships here. In the evening, the Light and Sound Show brought history to life, with narrations that sent chills down my spine.
Afterwards, I savoured a delightful dinner featuring fresh seafood and aromatic local spices. The anticipation of exploring more of the islands had already begun building in my heart.
Day 2: Havelock Island
On the second day, I boarded a ferry to Havelock Island which truly is a jewel of the Andamans. The journey across the sparkling turquoise waters was mesmerising, with glimpses of uninhabited islets dotting the horizon.
Havelock’s Radhanagar Beach, often called one of the best beaches in Asia, exceeded every expectation I had of the place. The white sand on the beached and turquoise waves created a magical scene. I spent hours here, relaxing in the warm waters and marvelling at the surrounding lush greenery. The tranquillity was unmatched, offering a true escape from the world.
For lunch, I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal of fresh fish and tropical fruits at a beachside café. Later, the adventure continued with snorkelling at Elephant Beach, where I discovered an underwater paradise. Vibrant corals and colourful fish danced beneath the surface, creating a magical experience that I will forever treasure.
Day 3: Neil Island
Neil Island was next on my itinerary, and the whole island made me feel like I had stepped into a whole different world. Since the Island was comparatively less commercialised than Havelock, it offered a laid-back charm that immediately won me over.
The day began at Bharatpur Beach, where I explored the vibrant marine ecosystem on a glass-bottom boat ride. The clarity of the water was astounding, and the sight of exotic fish and corals below was simply breathtaking.
Next, I visited Laxmanpur Beach, a perfect spot for quiet reflection and incredible sunset views. The changing hues of the setting sun reflected the water creating a memorable moment of serenity.
Neil Island also introduced me to some of the most hospitable locals. Their stories about island life and their recommendations for must-try dishes added a personal touch to my journey. My lunch, which included freshly caught prawns and coconut-based curries, was a culinary highlight.
Day 4: Port Blair
On the final day, I returned to Port Blair for a relaxed morning. My visit to Chidiya Tapu, the island’s bird-watching haven, was a peaceful retreat. The panoramic views of the Andaman Sea from this spot were nothing short of magical, and I spotted several exotic bird species flitting through the trees.
Before heading to the airport, I indulged in a last round of local cuisine, savouring every bite of the Andaman’s flavours. Saying goodbye to these islands was bittersweet, but I left with my heart full of memories and my camera bursting with snapshots of paradise.

Reflecting on the journey, I must credit Thrillophilia for making it all so seamless.
