Nipponzan Myohoyi Buddhist Temple

Escape to the land of Peace at this forgotten Japanese Temple at Worli Naka, Mumbai

Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple might be the only Japanese Temple in the city of Mumbai. The place is extremely peaceful and is an extraordinary site when compared to the other attractions in the city. The temple was built in 1931 when a Japanese Monk visited India to fulfill a divination that was predicted many years ago. The Buddhist temple was built in order to fulfill the divination. Later in the 1950's the temple underwent changes and the praying area was expanded. There are monks here who might be willing to show you around and talk to you about buddhism.

The moment you walk into the temple you will experience the peace and quiet which is completely opposite to the noisy surroundings of Mumbai. You do not have to be a follower of Buddhism in order to visit this place.

Visit the temple to experience the peace and tranquility!
