The first thing that you must do when you visit Mumbai is to visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST)!
CST was formerly known as Victoria Terminus. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The building boasts of gothic architecture. It consists of gargoyles, intricate carvings, domed arches, pillars with animal images carved in them and stained glass windows. CST is a brilliant example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India, along with various themes borrowed from Indian architecture. It took 10 years for the building to be constructed. In May 1888, CST was finally opened.
You can enjoy the architecture of this marvel during off-beat hours like 11 AM to 3 PM.
